Resurrection Fern
The odd-looking carpet plant growing on many of the live oaks in Conway has a scientific name of Polypodium polypodioides or "many footed". In dry weather it is brown and dead looking, but within an hour after a shower, the shriveled fronds open out into vibrant green leaves. This death to life cycle explains the plant's common name "Resurection Fern".
