Silverton is a National Historic Landmark and is one of the most intact historic towns in America. Population today is 500 but hit 5,000 in the early 1900s when gold and silver mining were at their peak.

Take a Ride

on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Video clips from a roundtrip on a historic Colorado railroad line dating back to the 1880s when it was used to haul silver & gold ore from the San Juan Mountains. It has been in continuous operation for nearly 125 years.
