Like Giant Harps

The Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, SC is the longest cable stay bridge in North America. The analogy to harps is appropriate since Charleston is called "The Holy City" for the number of church steeples visible from the harbor.

Chimney Swifts

An old chimney at First United Methodist Church is providing a sanctuary for a large group of Chimney Swifts. These Neotropical migrants will leave by the first cold-front that blows through in the fall and will spend the winter in the Amazon Basin of Peru.
