Shoes on a Wire

I first began to notice the art form of shoes on a wire in the late 1960's. The drive down the causeway to Tybee Island (Savannah's beach) was bisected by an impressive array of utility lines that had been carefully and systematically draped with tennis shoes. Care had been taken to place them like old fashioned icicles on a Christmas tree. By the mid 70's the exhibit had taken on a powerful persona. The fad moved toward the new Hilton Head, and has continued to intrigue the young at heart. I don't know how dangerous the endeavor is, but the WOW factor is high.
