From a distance, this day-flying moth is often mistaken for a hummingbird. They have been an annual visitor to our Butterfly Bush.

This appears to be a hummingbird clearwing sphinx moth

Genus Hemaris
species Thysbe
It may be a few miles out of its usual range.
