Santee Indian Mound
The mound is located on Lake Marion adjacent to the Santee National Wildlife Refuge and is over 3,000 years old. The abandoned ceremonial site was used as part of a British fort during the American Revolution. The elevated vantage point overlooked the Santee River and the road to Charleston.
