Saltwater Marsh
Birdwatchers at Huntington Beach State Park armed with the binoculars and Peterson's Field Guide to Birds.
The diversity of habitat at the park provides for a wide variety of birds. A full day of bird watching can yield 100 or more species.
During low tide in the marsh several Clapper Rails were observed.

Huntington Beach State Park

Yesterday morning I spent three hours at Huntington Beach State Park. The weather was great, the summer crowds were gone and it was a great day to explore salt marshes, nature trails, wildlife and the historic Spanish-style Atalaya Castle. There were photo opportunities galore which will provide blog material for quite a few days.
